,it is mainly used as a gel catalyst for polyurethane foam, widely used in soft, semi-rigid, rigid polyurethane foams, elastomers, in addition, the epoxy resin can also be used as a curing catalyst, an ethylene polymerization catalyst, the polymerization catalyst of acrylonitrile and ethylene polymerization catalyst alkane, piperidine and other pesticide production initiators and a kind of hydrogen-free plating additive.
In all kinds of tertiary amine catalysts, triethylenediamine belongs to the most important species, widely used in a variety of polyurethane foams (including soft, semi-rigid, rigid polyurethane foams, microcellular elastomers), coatings, elastomers. In the one-shot foaming process, the importance of triethylenediamine seems more obvious. At first because of its high activity, the amount is small; followed by its gel and blow reactions is a strong catalytic effect, particularly for catalysis of polyurethane with a hydroxyl group (urethane formation reaction, gel reaction) more selective.
DABCO has been used as a catalyst for a metal-free Sonogashira coupling, with or without microwave enhancement. For example,phenylacetylene couples with electron-deficient iodoarenes to furnish the Sonogashira product in 77% yield with 95% selectivity.
